The Day I lost my Faith (again)

from Quiet Collectors - Torture The Deaf Mute by Alexander Dust

/

lyrics

The day I lost my faith was a beautiful day
The sun was shining upon the stones and the holes
And the birds were high in the trees
The day I lost my faith I wasn't complaining
But suddenly all went quiet

And I thought to myself
I'm just an empty boat avoiding the riverside
Slowly gliding down the streams in the dusk
Every man finds his own darkness to grope about
Waking the sleeping snakes under his feet
And Mary Magdalen begged me to stay
A skull between her breasts a horsewhip on her thighs
How could I say no?

And so I lost my faith and lost it over again
And then I realized I unconsciously regained it to lose it again
It must be some kind of Sisyphos thing to lose it to regain it and to lose it
Again
